Another beautiful day as we set off for an anchorage at Key
Biscayne, Florida called Miami Marine Stadium.
This is a well-protected
anchorage and a great find for us. Miami
Marine Stadium was closed after it was damaged in 1992 by Hurricane
Andrew. Before that, it was a popular
spot for speed boat races and outdoor concerts.
After gathering local knowledge we decided to risk the depths of
Angelfish Creek in order to cut through from ocean side Hawks Channel to Card
Sound on the ICW. Good choice as it cut
our time and we made it through some skinny water with caution.
We arrived at Marine Stadium by mid-afternoon and soon we
were swinging on the hook with the Miami skyline in the background. Who would have thought!
