We arrive in the Benjamin Islands to a very busy anchorage. I counted 30 boats in all sizes and shapes. Many of the smaller boats were rafted together and tied stern to shore. There were many dinghies and their wakes turned the anchorage into a mix of froth and rapids. If there is a zoo in the North Channel this is where you will find the elephants. This is truly a beautiful place but way too busy for Terri and me during high season. We will stay the day but will look for more tranquil surroundings tomorrow. Around diner time I look out the window of the boat and I see a dinghy circling us like we were a wagon train and they were the Indians. This is a time honoured way of being polite and saying “Hey you in there come on out, I want to talk to you”. So I take up the challenge and go out to see if I can make peace and not war. Lol, it turns out to be Rick and Connie who sail “Destiny”. They are anchored at Hotham Island and have dinghied over here to check things out. We have met before many years ago when they use to boat out of Goderich. We might as well head to Hotham tomorrow and see them there. It’s nice to see a friendly face! Again after diner I am too tired to wait until dark to turn on the anchor light. I ask Terri to do it as she is a night hawk anyway. I am fast asleep by 2100 hrs.
